Environmental Statement

Our Responsibilities

Vudex Hardwoods recognises it’s responsibilities as a purchaser of timber and related forest sourced products from around the world.
We actively pursue a sustained policy of continuous improvement in sourcing timber from traceable and well managed forest sources and when ever possible will endeavour to purchase raw lumber from independently certified sources such as FSC® (Licence Code FSC-C012220), PEFC (Certificate GB16/871956), and mutual recognition schemes such as SFI and CSA.

We will comply with all local, national and international regulations in the production of our materials, including environmental considerations.

Minimal Impact on the environment

We will pursue an active course to minimise our impact on the environment, locally, nationally and internationally.Our major raw material source is well managed forests. We will wherever possible use our first choice certified timber chain such as FSC® (Licence Code FSC-C012220) or PEFC (Certificate GB16/871956). We will comply with our associated company’s initiatives for all lumber sourcing in which other forest certification schemes are acceptable.

Recycled by-products

Our major waste by-products is sawdust, which in all cases is either used for energy to power our kilns/heating or is sold for recycling.

Green Energy

We are a responsible supplier of excess energy from our factory to the national grid. All company vehicles shall comply with all regulations concerning environmental pollution.
